Purpose

This Warranty Policy explains the lifetime warranty applicable to products sold on kenshiblades.com and the conditions for benefiting from it.

Kenshi Blades sells Japanese Damascus knives and related kitchen accessories. Our products are designed for kitchen use and must be handled, cleaned, stored and maintained properly.

1) Statutory Rights and Applicable Consumer Protections

Depending on your state of residence and applicable United States consumer protection laws, you may benefit from certain legal rights regarding products that are defective, unsafe, not as described, or not fit for their ordinary purpose.

These rights may include implied warranties under state law, such as implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, where applicable.

Nothing in this Warranty Policy is intended to limit or exclude any mandatory consumer rights that cannot be waived under applicable federal or state law.

2) Kenshi Blades Lifetime Warranty

In addition to any rights you may have under applicable law, Kenshi Blades offers a lifetime warranty against confirmed manufacturing defects on eligible knives purchased directly from kenshiblades.com.

This lifetime warranty applies to the original purchaser and covers defects in materials or workmanship that affect the normal use or safety of the knife.

What is covered

This lifetime warranty covers confirmed manufacturing defects, including:

  • Blade or handle manufacturing defects present at delivery
  • Assembly defects affecting normal kitchen use
  • Handle separation caused by a factory defect
  • Structural defects affecting the safe use of the knife
  • Incorrect item received compared with the order placed

What is not covered

This lifetime warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Natural dulling of the blade over time
  • Scratches, marks, stains, patina, discoloration or cosmetic changes caused by use
  • Rust or corrosion caused by poor maintenance, moisture, soaking or improper drying
  • Damage caused by dishwasher cleaning
  • Damage caused by cutting bones, frozen food, metal, glass, ceramic plates, stone, or other hard surfaces
  • Chips, broken tips, bent blades or edge damage caused by misuse or impact
  • Damage caused by improper sharpening, grinding or modification
  • Damage caused by improper storage, unsafe handling, accidents, drops or external force
  • Loss or theft
  • Products used for non-kitchen purposes
  • Products used professionally, commercially or intensively, unless expressly stated otherwise on the product page
  • Products not purchased directly from kenshiblades.com
  • Products without proof of purchase
  • Personalised or engraved products, except in case of confirmed manufacturing defect

3) Eligibility Conditions

To benefit from the Kenshi Blades lifetime warranty, the following conditions must be met:

  • The product must have been purchased directly from kenshiblades.com
  • The claim must be made by the original purchaser
  • The customer must provide proof of purchase, such as an order number, invoice or order confirmation email
  • The product must have been used only for its intended kitchen purpose
  • The product must have been cleaned, dried, stored and maintained properly
  • The defect must be reported as soon as it appears
  • The customer must provide clear photos or videos showing the issue

4) Product Care Requirements

Japanese Damascus knives require careful maintenance. To preserve your knife and maintain warranty eligibility, we recommend the following:

  • Hand wash only
  • Dry immediately after washing
  • Never wash in a dishwasher
  • Never soak the knife in water
  • Do not cut bones, frozen food or hard materials
  • Use a suitable cutting board, such as wood or soft plastic
  • Store the knife safely in a sheath, box, knife block, magnetic holder or suitable storage solution
  • Sharpen the knife using appropriate tools or a professional sharpening service
  • Keep the knife away from children

Damage caused by improper care, misuse, unsafe handling, accidents or failure to follow maintenance recommendations is not covered by this warranty.

5) Claim Procedure

To submit a warranty claim, send an email to contact@kenshiblades.com with the subject line: Warranty – Order Number.

Please include:

  • Your order number
  • Your purchase date
  • The product concerned
  • A detailed description of the defect
  • The date the issue appeared
  • Photos or videos showing the full product and close-up views of the issue
  • Photos of the packaging if the product arrived damaged

A response will usually be provided within 48 business hours with further instructions.

We may request additional photos, videos or information to assess the claim properly.

Important: Do not return any product without our prior written approval.

The return address and instructions will be provided by our customer service team once the claim has been reviewed and approved.

6) Solutions Provided

If the warranty claim is approved, Kenshi Blades may offer one of the following solutions depending on the situation:

  • Replacement part, where applicable
  • Repair guidance or repair solution, where possible
  • Exchange for an identical product
  • Exchange for an equivalent product if the original model is no longer available
  • Partial refund
  • Full refund if no other reasonable solution can be provided

Kenshi Blades will determine the most appropriate solution based on the nature of the defect, product condition, availability and applicable consumer rights.

7) Transport Costs

If the product is covered under warranty and a return is required, Kenshi Blades will provide return instructions by email.

If the claim is approved as a confirmed manufacturing defect, damaged item or incorrect item, Kenshi Blades may cover return and reshipping costs according to the instructions provided by customer service.

Any parcel returned without prior approval or to an address not provided by our customer service team may be refused.

If the product is not covered by the warranty, a cost-effective alternative may be offered, such as a replacement part, discount, preferential shipping rate or repair recommendation.

8) Damaged Product Upon Delivery

If your product arrives damaged, missing, defective or incorrect, please report the issue within 48 hours of delivery to: contact@kenshiblades.com.

Please include:

  • Your order number
  • A clear description of the issue
  • Photos or videos of the product
  • Photos of the packaging and shipping label where relevant

Depending on the situation, a replacement, replacement part, exchange, partial refund or full refund may be offered.

The return address is not the company’s head office and will be provided by customer service after the case is opened and reviewed.

9) Territorial Scope

The Kenshi Blades lifetime warranty applies to eligible orders delivered within the United States through the standard checkout process on kenshiblades.com.

Any mandatory consumer rights provided by applicable federal or state law apply independently of this lifetime warranty.
